Recently, Voyager 2.0 was released - this supports an enhnaced VIX system called VIXen. By and large all VIXes are compatible with the VIXen system.
On this page are the VIX modules that I have written, and other patches that are specific to Voyager. So far there isn't much, but doubtless more will appear soon :)
As is usual with my stuff, almost everything here comes with source code.
- Argo PPPdriver Patch [3K] (added 14th Sep 1999)
This Vixen installs an automatic patch for the ArgoPPP driver. The patch prevents problems when using Voyager to connect alongside !SoundCon, !Translator or (most annoyingly) the shift key on the keyboard.
Because this is a VIXen, it will only work with Voyager version 2.00 or later.
- AcornICQ Vixen 1.00 [11K] (added 18th Jan 1999)
A simple Vixen to integrate !AcornICQ with Voyager. Allows you to specify whether AcornICQ should automatically be run when connecting or only when clicked in the Voyager toolbar. Additonally you can control whether there even is an AcornICQ icon on the toolbar.
Also required: a copy of !AcornICQ (available from the AcornICQ homepage
Because this is a VIXen, it will only work with Voyager version 2.00 or later.
- FreeTime Vixen 1.11 [67K] (updated 18th Jan 1999)
FreeTime is an application by Joseph Heenan (homepage) that allows you to easily synchronise your computer's clock with the time fetched from a machine on the internet.
This VIXen contains (with permission) version 1.10 of !FreeTime and a VIXen front end that allows you to configure how/when !FreeTime will be run as well
as to set !FreeTime up (it is ready configured for use with Argo, however).
New, 18 Jan: Configuration changes take immediate effect - no need to reload Voyager.
Because this is a VIXen, it will only work with Voyager version 2.00 or later.
- LIRC Vixen 1.01 [12K] (updated 18th Jan 1999)
LIRC is an Internet Relay Chat client written by Thomas Olsson.
To use this Vixen you'll need a copy of !LIRC, which can be downloaded from http://isa.dknet.dk/~tolsson/files/ as lirc.zip.
New, 18 Jan: Configuration changes take immediate effect - no need to reload Voyager.
Because this is a VIXen, it will only work with Voyager version 2.00 or later.
- Themes for Voyager 2 (updated 25 April 1999)
Voyager 2 supports an easy way of changing the way the Voyager toolbar looks. The new system is called the Theme Manager.
There are currently two variations of my theme available - one has large LEDs (just as standard Voyager does), the other has smaller squarer ones.
New 27.06.99: PPPMon now has its own sprite (new versions of PPPMon don't need the PPPMonCtrl Vixen anymore). I've also made is possible to download just the icons you need, rather than the whole theme, each time it is updated.
- Museum 2.01 VIX [10K] (added 18th Jul 1998)
Museum collects together the history lists of various browsers and gives them to a browser as a 'links' document.
Very useful if you use more than one browser.
- HTML load fix 2.00 (added 10th June 1998)
Stops Voyager from starting Fresco to handle HTML files that are double-clicked, etc. if another browser is already loaded.
Also supplied is a (neat) VIX to start Browse.
Basically, if you use Browse alongside Voyager+Fresco (or indeed, instead of Fresco...) this patch/VIX should make your life that little bit easier :)
- MailSize 1.13 [10K VIX file]
This is a simple VIX that shows you how much mail has downloaded, and
at what rate (cps) it is arriving.
a mail).
Version 1.13 (27 Jun 1999) simply changes the way in which some errors are
reported in order to make it clearer what has gone wrong.
- My Fresco Weirdness page, where you can find new sprites, templates and other sundry goodies.
Added 2nd April 1998
- Replacement VoyBrowse sprites 1.33 [10K]
This is a set of replacement sprites for VoyBrowse that use almost 100K less RMA than the originals. This is a Good Thing as the RMA is of a limited size under RISC OS 3.1. RiscPC users might like to check these sprites out anyway - they're nicer than the Argo ones, IMHO of course :)
Have a click here for a quick look
Users of NewLook might also like to check out my MusLook NewLook replacement that frees up about another 100K of RMA.
Also still available: Version 1.00 for VoyBrowse 1.30
- Modem Prodder 1.15 [10K]
This is a rather neat modem prodder that gives you the chance to
automatically prod your modem back awake if it goes to sleep
during a down/up-load.
(Also available as a standalone application on the freeware page)
- HTML load fix 1.01 (added 19th Dec 1997)
Fixes the problem of Voyager starting a fresh copy of the browser when you double-click on an HTML file (this only happens if you're not using the original WebVoyage).
